The official site for DC Universe™ Online. An MMO by Sony Online Entertainment that takes place in the DC Universe.
The gang at SOE's Austin studio, the ones responsible for the development of DC Universe Online (DCUO) , needed a revamped website design for the game in time for the 2010 E3 Expo in Los Angeles. I worked with the DCUOs' UI designer in Austin to get some ideas for the sites colors and elements. I looked though screenshots of the UI and watched videos of gameplay to gather a decent feel for the game, the colors and the UI.
I wanted to design this site with as few containers as possible therefore - hopefully -making the background stand out a bit more. The end result, I feel, is a very open yet concentrated design that is more so about about the art on the site, rather than the UI.
