How Did I Do It?

When putting together a theme for the Playstation 3, I like to keep a few things in mind. First off, I want to make sure the background is fun, colorful, exciting, but not too distractive. Secondly, I try to style the XMB icons so that they match some in-game element that the user would typically see throughout the game. I ultimately landed the broken-driftwood style for the icons being that it seemed to be a consistent element that appeared throughout the UI. Since the icons were lighter in color, I chose a darker color background with lots of interesting elements and made sure most of the action in the background was happening below the XMB so the icons wouldn't appear cluttered on the screen.
